Hong Kong stocks end on healthy note

Hong Kong shares closed with strong gains on Thursday, in line with an advance across Asia following a positive lead from New York as traders welcomed leaders’ pledges to provide support to the stuttering economy.

The Hang Seng Index rose 1.7 percent, or 329 points, to 20,276.

The Shanghai Composite Index rose 0.6 percent, or 17 points, to 2,975, while the Shenzhen Composite Index dipped 0.7 percent, or 12 points, to 1,808. (AFP)
