Hong Kong stocks edge up, Shanghai rallies

Hong Kong stocks ended slightly higher on Wednesday while Shanghai rallied after President Xi Jinping called for a new infrastructure building drive, though traders remain concerned about a Covid outbreak and lockdowns on the mainland.

The Hang Seng Index added 0.1 percent, or 11 points, to 19,946.

The Shanghai Composite Index rose 2.5 percent, or 71 points, to 2,958, while the Shenzhen Composite Index gained 3.9 percent, or 69 points, to 1,821. (AFP)
