HK stocks open lower after Wall Street slide

Hong Kong stocks fell at the open on Wednesday trade following a rout on Wall Street fuelled by fears about the economic outlook owing to a range of problems including China’s Covid lockdowns and US interest rate hike plans.

The Hang Seng Index shed 1.1 percent to 19,723.

The Shanghai Composite Index lost 0.7 percent to 2,866, and the Shenzhen Composite Index dropped 1.3 percent to 1,729. (AFP)
