The Hang Seng Index was down 3 percent, or 663 points, to 21,208.

The Shanghai Composite Index dropped by 2.6 percent, or 84 points, to 3,167, while the Shenzhen Composite Index dipped 3.3 percent, or 69 points, to 2,011. (AFP)
