Local stocks dip on profit-taking

Hong Kong stocks closed lower on Wednesday on profit-taking, snapping a two-day winning streak, after a recent run-up and following a tepid Wall Street lead on concerns about the spread of the Delta Covid variant.

The Hang Seng Index eased 0.12 percent, or 32 points, to 26,320.

The Shanghai Composite Index was flat, inching down 1.4 point to 3,676, while the Shenzhen Composite Index on China’s second exchange dipped 0.08 percent, or 1.95 points, to 2,492. (AFP)
