Hong Kong stocks finish with steep losses

Hong Kong stocks finished with big losses on Monday on concerns about the Federal Reserve’s plans to hike interest rates to fight inflation, with the bank’s policy meeting later this week keenly awaited.

The Hang Seng Index dropped 1.2 percent, or 309 points, to 24,656.

The Shanghai Composite Index was marginally higher, inching up 1.5 points to 3,524, while the Shenzhen Composite Index added 0.2 percent, or 4 points, to 2,392. (AFP)
