Hong Kong stocks end with losses

Hong Kong stocks closed with steep losses on Tuesday as traders awaited the release of US inflation data later in the day, with sentiment soured by concerns over massively indebted property giant Evergrande as well as a new virus flare-up in China.

The Hang Seng Index dropped 1.2 percent, or 311 points, to 25,502.

But the Shanghai Composite Index shed 1.4 percent, or 52 points, to 3,662, while the Shenzhen Composite Index fell 0.5 percent, or 11 points, to 2,488. (AFP)
