The Hang Seng Index shed 0.9 percent, or 222 points, to 25,154.

The Shanghai Composite Index dipped 0.1 percent, or 2 points, to 3,544, though the Shenzhen Composite Index rose 0.5 percent, or 11 points, to 2,411. (AFP)
