Hong Kong stocks close with gains

Hong Kong stocks ended on a healthy note on Tuesday as fears over the Evergrande crisis ease, with energy firms boosted by a rally in oil and gas prices and recently beaten-down tech and casino firms also enjoying some bargain-buying.

The Hang Seng Index climbed 1.2 percent, or 291 points, to 24,500.

The Shanghai Composite Index rose 0.5 percent, or 19 points, to 3,602, while the Shenzhen Composite Index dipped 0.2 percent, or 4 points, to 2,402. (AFP)
