HK stocks rise as Evergrande concerns subside

Stocks rose in Hong Kong on Thursday as investors returned from a midweek break to easing concerns about troubled property giant Evergrande, while they also welcomed comments from the Federal Reserve on tapering its monetary policy.

The Hang Seng Index climbed 1.2 percent, or 289 points, to 24,510.

But the Shanghai Composite Index rose 0.4 percent, or 13 points, to 3,642, while the Shenzhen Composite Index added 0.5 percent, or 11 points, to 2,451. (AFP)
