HK stocks fall at open, tracking Wall Street lower

Hong Kong stocks opened lower on Wednesday following declines on Wall Street as US data showing a surprise jump in inflation raised investor concerns over Federal Reserve policy.

The Hang Seng Index fell 0.3 percent to 27,888 in the first few minutes of trade.

The Shanghai Composite Index retreated 0.5 percent to 3,548, while the Shenzhen Composite Index slipped 0.4 percent to 2,482. (AFP)
