HK shares open higher, lifted by US jobs figures

Hong Kong stocks opened higher on Monday as investor concerns about an expected surge in inflation were soothed by data last week showing far fewer US jobs than expected were created last month.

The Hang Seng Index added 0.6 percent to 28,776.

The Shanghai Composite Index edged up 0.1 percent to 3,423, while the Shenzhen Composite Index inched up 0.1 percent to 2,241. (AFP)
